Our meeting this week was a “mixed bag”.
We had flag break to half mast, a poem by Roger McGough called God rest the Queen and a minute’s silence to remember our patron H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.
We then invested 4 new Explorers who are taking the places of those turning 18 and moving on to Scout Network. Welcome.
After that we had 3 first aid bases (as refreshers for those who’ve done it before) and one base on how to pack up a tent. It’s important to have consistency so that everyone knows where the tent door is when unpacked (in case of severe weather) and that the poles & pegs can be easily accessed to swap round when packing an expedition rucksack.
